The Montgomery Catholic Knights are taking a road trip to face off against the Lee-Scott Academy Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Montgomery Catholic is coming into the contest hot, having won their last seven games.
If Montgomery Catholic beats Lee-Scott Academy with 11 runs on Monday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. Everything went the Knights' way against Brewbaker Tech on Friday as they made off with an 11-1 win. While the Knights didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-18-1), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last matchup, Lee-Scott Academy made sure to put some runs up on the board against Baldwyn on Wednesday. The Warriors put the hurt on the Bearcats with a sharp 15-1 victory. Considering the Warriors have won five contests by more than seven runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Ethan Hardee was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one RBI.
In other batting news, Barrett Cook was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted over his last ten games. Easton Gregory was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Lee-Scott Academy hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive matchups.
Montgomery Catholic's record now sits at 10-3. As for Lee-Scott Academy, their record is now 9-4.
Montgomery Catholic couldn't quite get it done against Lee-Scott Academy when the teams last played back in April of 2025 as they fell 7-3. Can the Knights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
