Basketball Recap: Skipstone Academy Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Skipstone Academy entered their tilt with Central Christian on Thursday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Central Christian Crusaders by a score of 60-49. For the Warriors, this counts as revenge for the 77-32 win the Crusaders walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2018.

Skipstone Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Scooter Barkley out in front who posted 32 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which Barkley has scored at least a third of Skipstone Academy's points. Nick Cloud was another key player, putting up 17 points.

Several Crusaders players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jonathan Cook, who put up 12 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Steidinger, who had 16 points and six rebounds.

Skipstone Academy pushed their record up to 3-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.0 points per game. As for Central Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-7.

Coincidentally, Skipstone Academy and Central Christian will both be playing Trinity Christian School of Griffin the next time they take the court. Central Christian will host Trinity Christian School of Griffin at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Skipstone Academy will host them at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
