Hickory Ridge came tearing into Thursday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 32 points) and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victor by a 71-46 margin over the West Cabarrus Wolverines. The Ragin' Bulls have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 22 points or more this season.

Leading Hickory Ridge to victory were Ma-Kaela Gidney and Jada Powell. Gidney went 9 of 22 on her way to 22 points in addition to seven rebounds and five steals, while Powell dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten boards. The dominant performance gave Powell a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Amya Leathers, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine boards.

Hickory Ridge smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 11 consecutive matches.

Hickory Ridge has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.8 points per game. As for West Cabarrus, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-9.

Hickory Ridge wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 78-21 victory against South Iredell on the 31st. As for West Cabarrus, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, an 89-37 defeat against Lake Norman on the 31st.
