Wellington took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the El Dorado Wildcats. The Crusaders haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.
Wellington had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The final score came out to 24-26, 25-17, 25-16.
Elle Wright paced Wellington's offense, picking up nine kills. Wright got some help from Kirstyn Gregory and her 17 assists. Gregory was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.
