The biggest upset of the week belonged to Fern Creek, who took down 34th ranked Ballard, 31-23.
Eastern led 6A District 5 in scoring this week by notching 47 points on Oldham County.
The Colonels' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Caleb Allen chipped in 178 yards.
Allen provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Oldham County lost to the Eagles.
Allen was the best running back in the league this week. He ran for 178 yards on 28 carries as Matt Brown's team lost to Eastern. Jonathan Stocking also contributed to the rushing game with 52 yards on the ground.
Stephen Ruckman's team's Jacob Biller and Luke Moses led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-3 quarterback Biller has thrown for 779 yards this season, while Moses has 16 catches for 319 yards. The Colonels' Allen leads the league in rushing yards with 423.
The top two teams in 6A District 5 will face off this week when first place Fern Creek takes on second place Eastern.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when the Eagles take on the Tigers. Eastern has allowed 201 points this season, while Fern Creek has given up 167. The Eagles allowed 39 points last week as they beat Oldham County.
Eastern made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 4,734 from 5,357. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 47-39 victory over the Colonels last week.
