It was a good run, but the Colonia Patriots unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Monday. They fell 59-52 to Middle Township.
Middle Township had a senior duo take command as Anthony Trombetta scored 21 points and Michael Zarfati dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. It was the first time this season that Zarfati pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Re'Ale Basquine, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds.
Colonia's defeat dropped their record down to 15-7. As for Middle Township, the victory was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 21-2.
Colonia does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Middle Township, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Atlantic County Institute of Tech at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Middle Township knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine matchups -- so hopefully Atlantic County Institute of Tech likes a good challenge.
