The Our Lady of Good Counsel Falcons will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against the Colonial Grenadiers at 6:00 p.m. on December 7th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in their respective states (Our Lady of Good Counsel is ranked seventh in Maryland, while Colonial is ranked 14th in Florida).
Last Sunday, Our Lady of Good Counsel was able to grind out a solid victory over Friends' Central, taking the game 65-54.
Our Lady of Good Counsel can attribute much of their success to Talayah Walker, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 14 rebounds, and Caliyah Devillasee, who scored 29 points along with 3 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Walker has scored at least 25% of Our Lady of Good Counsel's points. Kaia Christian was another key contributor, scoring 7 points.
Meanwhile, Colonial waltzed into Friday's match with two straight wins but they left with three. They took down Timber Creek 54-40. 54 seems to be a good number for Colonial as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Colonial's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Carmen Richardson, who scored 13 points along with 5 steals. Richardson hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Jalei O'neal, who scored 7 points along with 11 rebounds.
The losses dropped Our Lady of Good Counsel to 2-1 and Friends' Central to 2-2.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Our Lady of Good Counsel hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 62 points per game. It's a different story for Colonial, though, as they've been averaging only 53.1 per game. The only thing between Our Lady of Good Counsel and another offensive beatdown is Colonial.
