Mountlake Terrace couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell 20-13 to the Cascade Bruins on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Hawks of the 36-14 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2021.
Despite the loss, Mountlake Terrace saw an underclassman step up: Mason Wilson rushed for 166 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 77 yards and a touchdown. Cosme got the majority of those receiving yards when he pulled down a pass and took off for a gain of 59 yards.
Mountlake Terrace will square off against Lynnwood at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Cascade, they will be defending their home-field for the first time this season they go up against Redmond at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
