This season hasn't been kind to the PAL Academy Bulls, who are still winless after their seventh game. They had to suffer through a rough 82-17 loss at the hands of Silver Valley. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points PAL Academy has scored all season.
Silver Valley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jaylen Walker led the charge by scoring 12 points along with nine rebounds and six steals. Damien Grundy was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five assists.
PAL Academy bumped their record down to 0-7 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 22.0 points per game. As for Silver Valley, the victory was the 17th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. PAL Academy will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Excelsior Charter at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th. Excelsior Charter knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matchups -- so hopefully PAL Academy likes a good challenge. Silver Valley won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Riverside Prep at 5:30 p.m. on January 17th. Hopefully Riverside Prep focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 42 on Tuesday.
