The biggest upset of the week belonged to Winterboro, who took down 294th ranked Wadley, 28-20. Taylor Garrett threw for 244 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 109 yards in the win.
St. Jude Educational Institute was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from sixth to fourth in 1A Region 4. Earlier in the week, the Pirates defeated the Pirates 22-19.
Bishop Burnett was the best wideout in the league this week as Notasulga topped St. Jude Educational Institute. Burnett racked up two receptions for 94 yards. Marlon Page helped Notasulga's passing attack out by catching one ball for 11 yards.
Wade Manora's team's Tony Minefield and Kendall Richardson have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Minefield has thrown for 1150 yards this season, while Richardson, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 19 catches for 433 yards. The Blue Devils' Page leads the league in rushing yards with 854.
A big matchup in 1A Region 4 this week will be when the Bulldogs take on Loachapoka. Wadley is currently in second, while the Indians are in third.
Notasulga moved up to 235 from 264 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. James Lucas' team was able to make the jump by topping the Pirates 22-19.
