The Bremen Lions will venture away from home to square off against the Tippecanoe Valley Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
Bremen is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Knox just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Friday. They were dealt a 44-15 defeat at the hands of the Redskins. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana football rankings (they are ranked 164th, while the Redskins are ranked 43rd).
Despite the loss, Bremen had strong showings from Jack Wildauer, who gained 208 total yards and two touchdowns, and Jake Rodriguez, who picked up 67 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Tippecanoe Valley). They blew past Glenn 42-7 on Friday. The victory was familiar territory for the Vikings, who have now won four games in a row.
Bremen better keep an eye on Owen Omondi. He was instrumental in Tippecanoe Valley's win, rushing for 98 yards and one TD, while also picking up 49 receiving yards.
Tippecanoe Valley was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 263 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 218 rushing yards in six consecutive contests.
Tippecanoe Valley didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Hudson Shepherd and Omondi.
Bremen's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 5-3. As for Tippecanoe Valley, their win bumped their record up to 6-2.
Bremen strolled past Tippecanoe Valley when the teams last played back in October of 2024 by a score of 24-10. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
