Baseball Recap: Lorena Extends Road Winning Streak to Five

Lorena had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 12-run drubbing they dealt Gateway College Preparatory on Friday. The Lorena Leopards were the clear victor by a 13-1 margin over the Gateway College Preparatory Gators. For the Leopards, this counts as revenge for the 5-2 victory the Gators walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2023.

Lorena's win was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-1-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.2 runs over those games. As for Gateway College Preparatory, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-5.

Coming up, Lorena will challenge Smithville at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Gateway College Preparatory, they will face off against Marble Falls at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
