Baseball Recap: Genesee Drops Highest Score of Season Against Colton

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Genesee). They blew past the Colton Wildcats 20-6 on Monday. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Noah Bollman and Carson Warner-Hall did most of the damage at the plate: Bollman went 3-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple, while Warner-Hall went 3-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That's the most hits Bollman has posted since back in March. Cameron Holmes was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

They weren't the only one making solid contact: Genesee kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive matchups.

Genesee's record now sits at 6-4-2. As for Colton, they suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 2-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Genesee will challenge Kendrick at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something the Bulldogs surely won't give up without a fight. As for Colton, they will take on Waitsburg/Prescott at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
