Meanwhile, Desert Vista waltzed into their game on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Coyotes a 10-0 shutout. Considering the Thunder have won 15 contests by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Madyson Purdy made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run and three RBI.
In other batting news, Jessa Ramirez and Mckenzie Leitgen did most of the damage at the plate: Ramirez scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3, while Leitgen went 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Kaiya Amato was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2.

Tuesday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Mountain View has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .478. However, it's not like Desert Vista struggles in that department as they've averaged .562. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
