The Lakota Tech Tatanka's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 77-65 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hot Springs. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Despite the loss, Lakota Tech still got an impressive performance from Gilbert White Jr., who scored 24 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points White Jr. has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Mackenzie Cass, who scored 13 points.
Lakota Tech's loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 2-5. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.7 points per game. As for Hot Springs, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lakota Tech will face off against Little Wound at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Dakota (Little Wound is ranked 64th, while Lakota Tech is ranked 53rd). Hot Springs' road trip will continue as they head out to face Wall at 6:45 p.m. on January 23rd.
