The Cameron Comets will take on the Spencer Rockets at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Cameron's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last six games.
Cameron's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Ladysmith 15-0. The result was nothing new for the Comets, who have now won ten matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.
Brylee Viltz and Emerson Krahenbuhl made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Viltz tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Krahenbuhl struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. At bat, Viltz went 3-for-5 with two RBI, one run, and one double, while Krahenbuhl went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, Aubree Kreier was a standout: she went a perfect 5-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Chloe Larson, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Cameron kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in 13 consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Spencer fell victim to Neillsville/Granton and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 10-0 to the Warriors. The Rockets haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.
Cameron is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.4 runs over those games. As for Spencer, their loss dropped their record down to 2-11.
