Basketball Recap: Tombstone Sets Scoring Season-High Against San Miguel

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Tombstone). They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat the San Miguel Vipers 78-9. The Yellow Jackets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 contests by 26 points or more this season.

Rachel Thursby continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 10 of 14 on her way to 22 points and four steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed four or more in the last seven games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Rivera, who posted nine points along with eight steals and five rebounds.

Tombstone smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in four consecutive games.

Tombstone is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.0 points per game. As for San Miguel, they are on a 32-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-18.

Tombstone didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 54-47 defeat against Willcox on the 24th. San Miguel has also already played their next game, a 77-18 loss against St. Augustine Catholic on the 23rd.
