Leading Nemaha Central to victory were Caleb Strathman and Carter Hajek. Strathman gained 125 total yards and two touchdowns, while Hajek rushed for 146 yards and two touchdowns. Hajek is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last eight games he's played.
Nemaha Central's win was their ninth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 8-0. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 37 points. As for Sabetha, their defeat ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Nemaha Central will take on Pleasant Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pleasant Ridge will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Kansas Rankings (they are ranked 178th, while Nemaha Central is ranked 28th). As for Sabetha, they will be playing at home against Atchison County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
