Football Recap: Alleghany Piles Up the Points Against Winston-Salem Preparatory Academy + How To Watch

Alleghany got themselves on the board against Winston-Salem Preparatory Academy on Friday, but Winston-Salem Preparatory Academy never followed suit. They blew past the Phoenix 51-0. The Trojans' victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

John LeMasters was the offensive standout of the match as he rushed for 28 yards and two TDs, and also threw for 58 yards and one touchdown on only five passes. That's the most rushing touchdowns he has posted since back in October of 2024. Another big playmaker for Alleghany was Damon Davis, who returned a punt for a touchdown.

Alleghany didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Winston-Salem Preparatory Academy to a completion percentage of just 40%. The Trojans weren't nearly as limited: they posted one of 60%.

Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 13 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Davis, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

Alleghany's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Winston-Salem Preparatory Academy, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Alleghany will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Ashe County at 7:30 p.m. on the 19th. The contest will give the Trojans their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Winston-Salem Preparatory Academy, they have already played their next game, a 35-0 defeat against Union Academy on the 12th.
