Basketball Recap: Rowen Haynes' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Aurora Christian Academy over Victory Road Christian Academy

Aurora Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 71-37 to the Victory Road Christian Academy Minutemen, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Arrows were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 51-13.

Aurora Christian Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rowen Haynes, who posted nine points. The dominant performance also gave Haynes a new career-high in boards (three). Caleb Privett was another key player, putting up six points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Victory Road Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Carter Kinslow, who put up 16 points. Another player making a difference was Isaac Wagner, who had 16 points.

Aurora Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Victory Road Christian Academy, they pushed their record up to 3-0 with the win, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Trinity Christian Academy the next time they take the court. Aurora Christian Academy will head out to face Trinity Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Victory Road Christian Academy will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on December 19th.
