Basketball Recap: Heide Trask Drops Season-High Score on South Columbus

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Heide Trask). They took down the South Columbus Stallions 53-39 on Thursday. This was payback for the Titans, who suffered a 37-27 loss the last time these two teams met.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Heide Trask to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sophia Gough, who posted eight points and three steals. Scarlett Dickson was another key player, dropping a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.

Despite the loss, South Columbus still got an impressive performance from Trinity Strickland, who went 6 for 10 on her way to 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aniya Davis, who had nine points.

Heide Trask's record is now 6-9. As for South Columbus, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.

Heide Trask has already played their next matchup (against North Brunswick), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. South Columbus will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Whiteville at 6:00 p.m. on January 21st.
