Fairfield is 1-9 against Rodriguez since April of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Falcons will face off against the Mustangs at 3:30 p.m. Fairfield will be strutting in after a win while Rodriguez will be coming in after a loss.
Fairfield will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs last Wednesday, then bounced right back against Florin last Friday. The Falcons put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 25-0 victory. That looming 25-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Falcons yet this season.

Karli Robinson was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 15 over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and five RBI.
In other batting news, Fairfield got a massive performance out of Kaya Lanzon, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. That home run was Lanzon's first of the season. Claudia Lucero was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
Fairfield always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .676. They are 4-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 11 runs the game before, Rodriguez was a bit more limited in their game last Friday. They came up short against Vanden, falling 9-1.
Rodriguez saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alanna Williams, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Fairfield's record is now 4-5. As for Rodriguez, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season.
Tuesday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Fairfield hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .369. However, it's not like Rodriguez struggles in that department as they've averaged .365. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Fairfield skirted past Rodriguez 13-12 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Falcons since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
