Desert Mountain had already won 20 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it 21 on Thursday. They blew past the Campo Verde Coyotes 12-2. The Wolves might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 games by six runs or more this season.

Lilly 'Goose' Goodwin was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 19 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That stolen base was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Avery Gehrke and McKinsey Beyer did most of the damage at the plate: Gehrke went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base, while Beyer went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. That's the most runs Beyer has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Hagan Nugent, who earned two runs and one stolen base.

Desert Mountain hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Campo Verde struck out 14 times.

Desert Mountain pushed their record up to 24-1-1 with the victory, which was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Campo Verde, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-17.

Desert Mountain wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 7-0 victory against Horizon on the 25th. As for Campo Verde, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 5-2 defeat against Notre Dame Prep on the 25th.
