The Anclote Sharks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They took a 39-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of Gulf. Anclote was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Gulf apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.
Gulf found their leader in underclassman Tajinae Bonney, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. Those ten rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Brenniyah Hall, who scored six points along with five steals.
Anclote has fallen quite a ways from their 18-9 record last season and are now at 2-5. As for Gulf, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Anclote will face off against Zephyrhills at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Gulf, they will head out on the road to face off against Cypress Creek at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
