Softball Recap: Beardstown Triumphs

Beardstown took a 11-run loss the last time they faced off against Seymour, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Beardstown came out on top in a nail-biter against Seymour on Wednesday, sneaking past 7-5. This was payback for the Tigers, who suffered a 14-3 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Shelby Goodrich made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Goodrich was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Kylynn Maltby was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Bella Palmer, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Beardstown lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Beardstown's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Seymour, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Looking ahead, Beardstown will face off against North Greene at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Seymour, they will take on Rushville-Industry at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
