Softball Recap: Antwerp Wins Going Away Against Ottoville

Antwerp got themselves on the board against Ottoville on Thursday, but Ottoville never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Big Green with a sharp 13-0 victory. The Archers not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since April 14th (when they won 15-2).

Elle Clem made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over four innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, Caroline Rohrs was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Clara Rohrs, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs.

Antwerp was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .421. They are 5-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Antwerp's win bumped their record up to 9-12. As for Ottoville, they dropped their record down to 1-14 with the defeat, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Antwerp will host Woodlan at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Ottoville, they will face off against Kalida at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
