There's no place like home for Calhoun, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. Everything went their way against the Murphysboro Red Devils on Saturday as they made off with an 8-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won 15 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Kiera Sievers was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Audrey Gilman, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run.

Calhoun is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.9 runs on average over those games. As for Murphysboro, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-18.

Calhoun has already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Mt. Vernon on the 10th. As for Murphysboro, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 6-5 victory against O'Fallon on the 10th.
