Bluffton has gone 7-2 against Fort Wayne Canterbury recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Tigers will look to defend their home field against the Cavaliers at 5:00 p.m. Bluffton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.
While Bluffton's win against Bellmont wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Tigers skirted past the Braves 13-11. The victory continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Braves: they've now won six in a row.
Axton Beste was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.
Beste wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Easton Blair, who went 4-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI Blair has posted since back in May of 2024. Another was Grayson Crowder, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI.
Bluffton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive contests.
Fort Wayne Wayne hit Fort Wayne Canterbury with a five-run fourth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Cavaliers took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Generals. The loss continues a trend for the Cavaliers in their meetings with the Generals: they've now lost eight in a row.
JP Rohwer was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Reed Hayes, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Fort Wayne Canterbury's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Bluffton, their win bumped their record up to 8-4.
