It was a good run, but the Pell City Panthers unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 57-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cullman.
Pell City's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Saniya McFarlin, who scored 17 points. That's the first time this season that McFarlin scored 15 or more points. Iyana Allen was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with seven rebounds.
Pell City's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-4. As for Cullman, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.
Pell City will take on West Point in a holiday battle at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday at. Cullman will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Chelsea at 12:30 p.m. on December 18th. Chelsea will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.
