The Alhambra Lions will head out on the road to face off against the Washington Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Alhambra will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last.
After low-scoring totals in their previous seven contests, Alhambra brought some dynamite into their most recent match. They breezed by Maryvale at home to the tune of 53-6. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Alhambra had established a 46 point advantage.
Alhambra got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Keshaun Holmes out in front who rushed for 117 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries. Isaiah Rwanyamugabo was in the mix too, providing Alhambra with two touchdowns.
Washington never got on the board in their matchup two weeks ago, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Carl Hayden Community last Friday. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 43-6 victory over the Falcons. The win was a breath of fresh air for Washington as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
Their wins bumped Alhambra to 1-7 and Washington to 3-5.
Alhambra took a serious blow against Washington in their previous meeting back in October of 2022, falling 50-18. Thankfully for Alhambra, Robert Juniel (who rushed for 220 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 13.8 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
