The Key West Conchs suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Saturday. Their rough 70-46 loss to Westminster Christian might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Key West can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 423rd, while Westminster Christian is ranked 139th).
Despite the loss, Key West still got an impressive performance from Kameron Roberts, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Tramane Scott was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with seven rebounds.
Key West now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Westminster Christian, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Key West will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) at 5:30 p.m. on January 17th. As for Westminster Christian, Westminster Christian and Stoneman Douglas will face off at 3:30 p.m. on January 15th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
