Land O' Lakes Christian's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their sixth straight loss. They fell just short of New Jerusalem Christian Academy by a score of 30-28. The contest was a 16-16 toss-up at halftime, but Land O' Lakes Christian couldn't quite close it out.
New Jerusalem Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Miguel Diaz led the charge by scoring 11 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Marcellus, who scored nine points.
Land O' Lakes Christian has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season. As for New Jerusalem Christian Academy, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-8.
Land O' Lakes Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. New Jerusalem Christian Academy will head out on the road to take on Cristo Rey Tampa at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
