It was a good run, but the Hominy Bucks unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 69-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of Drumright. Hominy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Drumright apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Joseph Bray was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 26 points and 12 rebounds for Drumright. That makes it 11 consecutive games in which Bray has scored at least a third of Drumright's points. Jaxson Bolton was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with seven rebounds.
Hominy's loss dropped their record down to 10-4. As for Drumright, their win was their 16th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hominy will take on Barnsdall at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Barnsdall will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Oklahoma Rankings (they are ranked 372nd, while Hominy is ranked 167th). As for Drumright, Drumright and Oilton will face off at 8:00 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Oilton knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Drumright likes a good challenge.
