On Friday Valley's undefeated season almost came to an end. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Serra Catholic Eagles. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Vikings also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Dante Taliani was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run and one stolen base. That home run was his first of the season.

Taliani wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits every time they've taken the field this season.

Valley's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Serra Catholic, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Coming up, Valley will look to defend their home field on Monday against North Hills at 4:00 p.m. As for Serra Catholic, they are taking a road trip to challenge Monessen at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The match will give Serra Catholic their first taste of in-conference action this season.
