The Central Bobcats suffered their biggest loss since December 12, 2023 on Wednesday. They suffered a rough 65-39 loss at the hands of McClintock. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Central in their matchups with McClintock: they've now lost five in a row.
Despite the loss, Central still got an impressive performance from Lia Sims, who almost dropped a triple-double on 30 points, ten rebounds, and nine steals. That was a full 76.9% of Central's points, marking the 20th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
McClintock found their leader in underclassman Lamaiya Woodberry, who scored 20 points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was Iakira Mike, who scored 12 points.
Central has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season. As for McClintock, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-6.
Central will look to defend their home court on Monday against North Canyon at 7:00 p.m. North Canyon is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for McClintock, they will take on Metro Tech at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Metro Tech has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 5.
