Several Longhorns players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Zealand Lane, who on his way to 15 points. Lane's big performance that evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Taylor Hays was another key player, putting up 11 points.
Aspen can attribute much of their success to Henry Hurd, who en route to 16 points. Hurd continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Joshua Ford, who posted 12 points and five rebounds.
Basalt's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Aspen, the win (which was their 13th in a row) raised their record to 19-3.
Basalt has already played their next match, a 65-62 loss against Delta on the 22nd. As for Aspen, they will face off against Moffat County at 7:00 p.m. on February 28th. Moffat County is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.4 points per game this season.
