Emmitt Smith, Escambia (Pensacola, Fla.)No one in the history of football has rushed for more yards than Smith, who gained 31,087 yards between high school (8,804 yards), college (3,928) and the NFL (18,355). Smith was the USA Today, Parade and Gatorade National Player of the Year after gaining nearly 9,000 yards in his high school career. Smith only finished seventh in the Heisman Trophy voting his junior year, finishing behind the likes of Darian Hagan, Dee Dowis, Tony Rice, Anthony Thompson, Major Harris and winner Andre Ware. Smith went on to become the NFL's all-time leading rusher and helped lead the Dallas Cowboys to three Super Bowl victories. Smith was inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame in 2010.
