Basketball Recap: Minden Piles Up the Points Against Ravenna

Minden waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Ravenna Bluejays 59-28. With that victory, the Whippets brought their scoring average up to 50.1 points per game.

Minden's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Luke Grollmes, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine boards. The dominant performance gave Grollmes a new career-high in rebounds. Tanner Gibb was another key player, putting up nine points and three blocks.

Minden smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in three consecutive matches.

Minden has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 6-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.2 points per game. As for Ravenna, they dropped their record down to 2-10 with the loss, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.

Minden has already played their next contest, a 56-35 victory against St. Cecilia on the 16th. Ravenna has also already played their next match (against Central City), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
