Cannon entered their tilt with Charlotte Country Day School on Thursday with five consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with six. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Buccaneers a 13-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won eight games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Cannon let Layla Wagner and Jolie Matthews run wild. Wagner went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles, while Matthews went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those two doubles gave Wagner a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Viola Knosby, who went 1-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Cannon pushed their record up to 11-5-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games.
