After a string of three wins, the Philo Electrics's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a rough 96-67 loss at the hands of Maysville. Philo has not had much luck with Maysville recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Several Electrics players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brayden Bleakney, who scored 13 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bleakney has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Talon Preston, who scored 18 points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Maysville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alex Bobb, who scored 29 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. Bobb is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. Gator Nichols was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 12 assists.
Philo's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Maysville, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.
Philo will head out on the road to square off against River View at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Maysville, they will be playing at home against John Glenn at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. John Glenn is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 54.7 points per game.
