The Park View Patriots will be playing at home against the Warren County Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Park View pushed their score all the way to 77 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to John Champe 82-77. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Wednesday (69), Park View still had to take the loss.
Despite the loss, Park View saw an underclassman step up: Noah Calalang scored 31 points. Another player making a difference was Jonathan Nicola, who scored 17 points.
Meanwhile, Warren County's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a 53-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of Kettle Run. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Warren County in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now lost four in a row.
Despite the loss, Warren County saw an underclassman step up: Bryce Bergmann scored 24 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bergmann has scored all season. Will Bergmann was another key contributor, scoring five points.
Park View's loss dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Warren County, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-15.
Everything came up roses for Park View against the Wildcats in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 as the squad secured a 70-42 win. Will Park View repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
