Softball Game Preview: Bella Vista Broncos vs. Woodcreek Timberwolves

The Bella Vista Broncos will take on the Woodcreek Timberwolves at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Bella Vista is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Christian Brothers a 15-0 shutout on Wednesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Broncos considering their two-run performance the contest before.

Mackenzie Dean made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 14 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with four RBI and one run. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Rosie Harrod was incredible, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024. Jada Whelan was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

Bella Vista was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .450. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Christian Brothers only posted a batting average of .062.

Meanwhile, Woodcreek waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They were the clear victors by a 7-0 margin over the Raiders. Considering the Timberwolves have won 11 games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Woodcreek pushed their record up to 19-4 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Bella Vista, the win got them back to even at 11-11.
