Pelion is 0-5 against Silver Bluff since January of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Pelion Panthers will be playing at home against the Silver Bluff Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Pelion has struggled recently with seven defeats in a row, while Silver Bluff will arrive with 18 straight wins.
Last Friday, Pelion took a serious blow against Strom Thurmond, falling 58-15. Pelion was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-8.
Meanwhile, Silver Bluff stacked a 15th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Strom Thurmond 57-25 at home. Winning is a bit easier when you work as a team to rack up nine more assists than your opponent, as Silver Bluff did.
Krystal Johnson was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 25 points and 12 rebounds. She has been hot recently, having posted 17 or more points the last six times she's played. Ahminah Taylor was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five steals.
Pelion has not been sharp recently as the team's lost 12 of their last 13 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season. As for Silver Bluff, they pushed their record up to 19-1 with that victory, which was their 21st straight at home dating back to last season.
Pelion was taken down by Silver Bluff 62-12 in their previous meeting back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds.
