Edgewood extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping their season record down to 7-9 in the process. They came up short against the Pymatuning Valley Lakers, falling 26-16. Even though they lost, the Warriors' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.3 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

D' Angelo Sanchez was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Sanchez was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Edgewood is 2-1 when Sanchez posts two or more stolen bases, but 5-8 otherwise.
In other batting news, Elliot Tobie stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Christian Braat was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
As for Pymatuning Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. Considering they have won eight games by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
On Pymatuning Valley's side, they got a massive performance out of Andrew Wludyga, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one double. That's the most runs Wludyga has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Sean Croston, who went 4-for-6 with five stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.
Looking ahead, Edgewood will welcome Jefferson Area at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Falcons will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last. As for Pymatuning Valley, they will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Grand Valley at 11:00 a.m. The Mustangs are coming into the match with five straight defeats at home, meaning the Lakers will have to defend against a squad out to give their home crowd a much needed win.
