The Kecoughtan Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the Phoebus Phantoms at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Kecoughtan is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
Last Tuesday, Kecoughtan ended up a good deal behind Bethel and lost 64-49. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Kecoughtan has scored all season.
Kecoughtan's loss came about despite a quality game from Caleb Mathews, who scored 18 points. Those 18 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Kevin Dryden, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, Phoebus was the victim of a tough 66-40 defeat at the hands of Hampton on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Phoebus can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 225th, while Hampton is ranked 67th).
Kecoughtan now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Phoebus, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.
Kecoughtan took their win against Phoebus in their previous meeting back in February by a conclusive 74-51. Does Kecoughtan have another victory up their sleeve, or will Phoebus turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
