Fans got a thrill when Emilio Araiza and Matt Bushman connected against Salpointe Catholic. The connection went for 55 yards, the longest such play in III Section II this season.
Catalina fell to Campo Verde 56-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Blaze Rose and Blaze Rose gave Douglas a balanced attack in passing and rushing last week. Rose threw for 110 yards, while Rose ran for 51 yards. David Vasquez also contributed to the rushing game with 32 yards on the ground.
Rose and Rose gave the Bulldogs a balanced attack through the air and ground last week.
Rose put up the best numbers in passing as Douglas lost to Bisbee. Rose's favorite target this week was Fernando Chacon, who caught 3 passes for 47 yards.
Rose was the most successful running back in the league this week.
Bushman was the best receiver in the league this week as Sabino lost to the Lancers. Bushman tallied 5 receptions for 86 yards.
Cholla made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 11,156 from 12,150. The advance stemmed from a 48-28 victory over Flowing Wells last week.
