Kaiser and Colton are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2016, but likely not for long. The Cats will take on the Yellowjackets at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Kaiser will bounce into Tuesday's contest after beating Grand Terrace, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Cats were the clear victors by a 14-5 margin over the Titans last Thursday.
Alynna Valdez tossed a big game, tossing 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Bella Gonzalez, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Alyssa Rios also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Kaiser kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4.8 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matchups they've averaged 13.2.
Meanwhile, Colton strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over Notre Dame.
ANDREA VARELA was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI.
VARELA wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was DESIREE ARMENTA, who went 2-for-4 with one triple and two RBI. Another was AUDRINA ARMENTA, who got on base in two of her three plate appearances with two runs.
Kaiser picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 6-9. As for Colton, their record is now 11-0.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Kaiser hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .351. However, it's not like Colton struggles in that department as they've averaged .455. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
