The Heritage Hills Patriots extended their postseason success on Friday against the Gibson Southern Titans. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Titans and snuck past 23-20. The victory was nothing new for Heritage Hills as they're now sitting on eight straight.
Heritage Hills' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Braydon Durham, who rushed for 127 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.5 yards per carry. Jett Goldsberry was another key contributor, rushing for 66 yards and a touchdown.
Heritage Hills pushed their record up to 13-1 with that win, which was their seventh straight at home. It's not like the team was facing easy opposition over that stretch either, as it included 13-1 North Posey and 7-4 Southridge (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 56% over those games). As for Gibson Southern, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-3.
Heritage Hills will take on Indianapolis Bishop Chatard at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Indianapolis Bishop Chatard will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line. Gibson Southern does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
