It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Pine-Richland had no problem doing just that  on Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Trinity Hillers  a   1-0 shutout. That's more bragging rights for the Rams, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
Not much got past  Keegan Deihl, who gave up just  two  hits and racked up seven Ks to keep Trinity off the board.
 On the hitting side, Pine-Richland saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Anthony Mengine, who  went 2-for-3 with one  stolen base and one  run.
Pine-Richland has  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won 13 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-3 record  this season. The  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Trinity,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 10-10.
As of now, neither Pine-Richland nor the Hillers have any future games scheduled.
