Arete Prep's loss came despite strong showings from Grace Howell and Sophia De La Rosa. Howell scored 14 points along with three steals, while De La Rosa scored two points along with four steals. That was a full 53.8% of Arete Prep's points, marking the seventh time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead San Carlos to victory, but perhaps none more so than ELLYSIA CUTTER, who went 6 for 8 from beyond the arc en route to 27 points and 2 assists. CUTTER has been hot recently, having posted 19 or more points the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was KYLEE JUAN, who almost dropped a double-double on 24 points and nine rebounds.
Arete Prep has not been sharp recently as the team's lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-16 record this season. As for San Carlos, they pushed their record up to 19-3 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road.
